Prysmian’s leading role
Prysmian will be responsible for the design, supply, installation and commissioning of two HV export power cable links, connecting three wind farms – Fecamp, Calvados and St Nazaire – to the French network.
These links will cover both submarine and land routes. Our submarine cables will be produced at the Group’s centres of excellence in Arco Felice (Italy) and Pikkala (Finland), and the land cables in Gron (France).
The submarine cable links will consist of HVAC (High Voltage Alternating Current) 220 kV three-core cables with XLPE insulation and single wire armouring. Delivery of the cables is expected between 2018 and 2020 (dependent on the schedules of the individual wind farms) with commissioning due to take place between 2019 and 2022.
